Kenny Carril
AmeriHealth Caritas | Actuarial Associate
Kenny is an Actuarial Associate at AmeriHealth Caritas and works remotely in Jacksonville, Florida. In this role, he collaborates with the state’s actuaries to determine the rates to be paid to AmeriHealth Caritas in order to cover the expected claim
experience of AmeriHealth Caritas’ Medicaid members. In his prior roles Kenny worked previously in value-based care analytics and pension retirement consulting. Kenny is originally from the Miami area and attended Florida State University. He is currently
working towards becoming an Associate of the Society of Actuaries. In his spare time, Kenny enjoys traveling with his wife and playing/watching baseball and soccer.

Bryana Cota, FSA, EA
Aon | Retirement Actuarial Consultant
Bryana is a consultant at Aon in San Francisco. Although the majority of her work is around Defined Benefit Pension Plans, she also works on overall benefits benchmarking with a DE&I lens. Bryana is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and Enrolled
Actuary. She graduated from UC Berkeley with degrees in Applied Math and Statistics. In her spare time, Bryana enjoys reading and playing video games.

Eric Bran, FSA
Cigna | Actuarial Advisor
Eric is an Actuarial Advisor in Cigna's Actuarial Executive Development Program (AEDP), specializing in US commercial Medical Pricing Methodology. With a background in Pharmacy Economics and Finance, he has expertise in pricing generic drug products,
forecasting pharmacy rebates, and supporting end-to-end pricing logic. Originally from El Salvador, Eric migrated to the United States in 2001.He holds a Master's in Adolescent Education and a bachelor’s in mathematics from the State University of
New York at Plattsburgh. After a career teaching high school mathematics in the Carolinas, Eric successfully transitioned from educator to corporate actuary and achieved Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) in 2024. In his leisure time, Eric
enjoys gardening, beach outings, karaoke, and spending quality time with his wife, two children, and dog.

Jacob Vander Ploeg, FSA, CERA
F&G | VP in Asset-Liability Management
Jacob leads the Actuarial team supporting Risk functions at F&G; focusing on delivering asset and liability projections for use in ORSA and asset/liability management. Prior to F&G he led actuarial modernization efforts in Disability Valuation at Principal. Jacob has a passion for bringing new people into the actuarial profession and equipping them to have a fruitful career. He has been continually involved in supporting actuarial intern and student programs throughout his career and currently leads actuarial recruiting at F&G. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst, has a BA in Actuarial Science and Computer Science from Northwestern College, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Data Analytics from Georgia Tech.
